With this tour we drive north of Lisbon and visit Óbidos, one of the most picturesque and well preserved old towns still surrounded by medieval walls and with great views over the region. Nearby is the town of Nazaré, famous for its impressive and gigantic waves and fish restaurants. Most restaurants are right by the promenade and where after lunch you can walk to enjoy the fresh brise from the ocean.
Let’s now visit a Unesco site. The abbey of Alcobaça is only a few miles ahead and its gothic architecture cannot be missed. It houses the tombs of portuguese monarchs and was inhabited by a religious order til 1834. Famous are the gothic tombs of King Peter I and Inês de Castro who lived a romantic episode in the 14th century.
