In this tour we will visit 3 monuments, Jerónimos Monastery, Belém Tower and Monument of Discoveries, two of them classified as World Heritage Site by Unesco. We will also taste the internationally known Pastel de Nata, the custard tart, and get to know its incredible story.
We will stroll around these monuments and figure out how and why Belém was, probably, the busiest place in Europe in the 15 th and 16th century.
Navigators, astronomers, painters, churchmen, traders from around the world gathered along this riverside on a busy scented atmosphere with cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, pepper, exotic woods and coloured by silk fabrics, ceramics and the Portuguese caravels silhouette.
